The UAE Red Crescent is Considering the Implementation of New Projects to Develop the Fisheries Sector in the West Coast.

Within the framework of a package of projects for the reconstruction of the West Coast areas, the Director of Humanitarian Operations in Yemen Saeed Al-Kaabi met with a number of representatives of the Ministry of Fisheries to discuss mechanisms to support the vital sector and infrastructure development in addition to the needs of fishermen in the West Coast.

The two sides also discussed the mechanisms of supporting the current and future projects of fishermen in the West Coast and increasing fish production, in addition to activating the role of fisheries offices. The two sides stressed the importance of allocating equipped facilities in the fish markets to enhance their abilities to meet the current humanitarian conditions and ensure a decent life for these families. .

The UAE support for the West Coast was estimated at AED 110 million. The brothers had earlier supported in opening and rehabilitation of the fishing boat berth in the Directorate of Al-Khokha in the same governorate after rehabilitation and equipping it with the necessary equipment to facilitate the handling of fish production at Qataba, which comes within the framework of development projects and services that have been announced recently, including support projects for fishermen, which includes the rehabilitation of fish farms and administrative offices equipped with solar energy system to improve the living conditions of fishermen and their families.
