During the inauguration of the opening of the sessions, the President of the Executive Authority of the Local Command in Hadibo District, Ali Khaled Baziyad, spoke in a word in which he welcomed the attendees, praising the efforts they exerted in preserving the Sokotra knife and its security, noting that the people of Socotra had got rid of the Brotherhood reform militia that was crowded on the issuance of the sons of the island after the occupation of the south in the summer war of 1994, after which the island would witness a bloody and tyrannical series, and the island was taken as a focus for the activities of the international organization of the Brotherhood and smuggling in its various forms to harm the movement of navigation and international trade in the Arabian Sea.
Baziyad stressed that the security mission of the Socotra Archipelago is not a responsibility of public security men only, but it is a responsibility of everyone, especially in monitoring and controlling suspicious elements trying to destabilize the security of the governorate, especially the Mahrous Brotherhood cells and militias that have been expelled and seek to create chaos again targeting security and the stability enjoyed by all districts of Socotra.
