As part of Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) drive to support the media sector in Yemen with equipment and necessary needs, the ERC has financed the rehabilitation project of the Radio Al Mukalla building in Hadramaut governorate.
The building was damaged at the hands of al-Qaeda terrorist organisation.
The Governor of Hadramaut, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, and the UAE relief team chief in Hadramaut, Mattar Al Ketbi, today inaugurated the headquarters of Radio Al Mukalla funded by the ERC.
The governor and Al Ketbi cut the ribbon to inaugurate the building, where they were briefed on various radio divisions with new equipment. They were also hosted in a live broadcast during which the governor thanked the UAE and the ERC for financing this vital project.
Al Ketbi stressed the keenness of the ERC to restore the radio given its importance in awareness and educating the community.
