UAE Red Crescent Provides Food Aid For University Student Residences In Mukalla

Last Sunday morning UAE Red Crescent Society distributed food aid for number of university student residences in Mukalla directorate, who suffered from difficult humanitarian and security conditions due to the recent events in the country, in order to alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions and as sense of moral and humanitarian duty that committed by United Arab Emirates.

During the distribution process, the UAE Red Crescent society’s projects , Shawki Al-Tamimi together with the secretary of the governor of Hadramout for Relief and Reconstruction, Mr. Riadh Bin Taleb Al Kathiri, had a round for a number of university student residences and to recognize their needs, touch their situation closely and hear directly from them. That enable the society to provide the necessary and help them to continue their studies in all easily and conveniently.

Mr. Al-Tamimi listened to the residence administrators, which was highlighted by malnutrition, which offers students an average of one meal per day and the sharp decrease in consumer water and the lack of a generator when the power is gone out especially at the time of the examinations as well as the lack of housing air-conditioners. In addition, to the buildings need for maintenance and intervention urgently.

The distributed relief packages included, the variety of food baskets, such as rice, sugar, milk, tuna, cans of tomato and oil.

The UAE Society’s projects supervisor in Hadramout, Shawki Al-Tamimi that they are continuing to distribute food baskets at various student residences in Mukalla directorate of, and noted that there are tremendous efforts made by the UAE Red Crescent to meet the needs of students to relieve them of the difficult living conditions and the deteriorating economic conditions experienced by the country.

For his part, Mr. Al Kathiri praised, the significant role assumed by the UAE Red Crescent to improve essential services. He added that the UAE has traditionally been connected to provide a large amount of humanitarian aid in Hadramout and other provinces. He concluded his speech that the relief work of the UAE Red Crescent towards Hadramout is conclusive evidence that the UAE is fully committed to its promise and that the long arm of its humanity for all the needy and affected people in Hadramout. It has been thinking a day and night about how to get aid to those who deserve it.

Accordingly, the university students have evaluated the UAE Red Crescent Society’s efforts on their humanitarian aids which carry all the meanings of love and gratitude with so far appreciation and happiness due to its help for their university residence which was and still is a hand proactive in humanitarian work.
