The spokesperson for the forces of the “Supporting Legitimacy Forces in Yemen”, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, said that he had foiled and thwarted an imminent terrorist act that was targeting one of the oil tankers in the Arabian Sea east of the Yemeni (Nashtoon) port.
Colonel al-Maliki stated that the attempted terrorist attack took place on Tuesday.
He added that while the oil tanker was sailing towards the Gulf of Aden, and (4) boats attempted to attack and detonate the ship with one of these unmanned boats and it would be controlled from a distance.
Colonel Al-Maliki added that the maritime threat to global energy security and the threat of maritime transport routes and the global trade of ships and marine media have become a strategic threat to global security with the expansion of the threat of terrorist organizations to the maritime straits from the south of the Red Sea to the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden along the Arabian Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.
Colonel Al-Maliki affirmed the continued leadership of the coalition’s joint forces by applying the necessary measures and measures to neutralize and destroy any maritime threat in the coalition’s maritime operations area.
The Alliance Joint Forces Command called on international partners to unite international efforts to neutralize these threats to global security.
