The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works in the UAE continued to support the electricity sector in the Socotra Archipelago as part of its efforts to improve basic services related to citizens.
The network adopted a number of electric and solar stations. The air network was replaced with a ground network in support of the residents of the area. It covers the Haidibu area, the port, and the coast.
The company has set up two power stations in the capital, Hadibou, in two stages, the first in the city center and the second in the city of Hawlaf, with a capacity of 6 MW, 3 MW and solar energy.
The company built a power grid in Mori area with a capacity of 06 MW and one megawatt and solar energy to feed the area. The Foundation also distributed earthmeters and installed meters to the citizens. A 06 megawatt plant, one megawatt in Qalansiya, 60% has been achieved. And establishment of a power station in the area of the Alamah, and this comes to the benefit of the citizen of Socotra who living a period of marginalization for years.
