Socotra Governor General Ali Ahmed Al-Raghdi and the coordinator of the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Activities in the Security Sector Hamad Al-Za’abi briefed today on the functioning of the Immigration and Passport Office.
During the visit, Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Al-Raghdi, Director General of the Archipelago police of Socotra, conveyed the greetings of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Eng. Ahmed bin Ahmed Al-Misri and emphasized his interest in the situation of the Socotra Archipelago Police.
Brigadier General Al-Rajhi and Za’abi, Director of Immigration and Passports, Lieutenant-Colonel Faiz Salem Musa, also briefed on the work of the General Directorate of Immigration, Passports and the difficulties facing the administration.
Al-Rajhdi stressed that the police security leadership in the province pays great attention to the Immigration Department in the governorate and provides services to all the security departments of the police of the governorate of Socotra in cooperation with brotherly in the United Arab Emirates through support various sectors in particular the security sector.
He pointed out that the immigration department in Socotra is receiving citizens from most of the governorates of the Republic, especially after the issuance of a decision to cancel the adoption of passports issued by the provinces under the control of the Houthi militias.
The aim of the visit is to review the progress of the Immigration Department and activate its role. This comes after the great success shown by the immigration office at the level of Socotra in a positive manner. The visit also aims to activate the Immigration and Passports Office 24 hours and provide all requirements of the security services.
Brigadier General Al-Rajhdi expressed his great pleasure in activating the role of the Immigration and Passports Department and improving the level of services offered to those wishing to obtain official documents. He also praised the role of the UAE in supporting Socotra.
The Immigration and Passports Department in Socotra also explained that they have temporary passports for emergency cases. A representative of the Immigration and Passports Department in Socotra, Hadramout Governorate, is also in the process of completing the issuance of passports from Hadramout on a daily basis.
