The UAE Red Crescent Authority has implemented the water project of Al-Qubaytah Directorate in the province of Lahj, benefiting 25,000 people, as part of the Authority’s efforts to fight thirst in the country and under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The project was inaugurated by Major General Ahmad al-Turki, governor of Lahj, in the presence of representatives of the UAE Red Crescent. The project included drilling an artesian well, supplying water tanks of large sizes and connecting the water supply network to the homes of the residents.
Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al-Falahi, Secretary-General of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, said that the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan came as part of the initiatives undertaken by the UAE to develop and reconstruct Yemeni governorates in all vital areas.
