The UAE Red Crescent continues its efforts in the Yemeni arena. During the last 48 hours, the UAE Red Crescent launched a water project in Taiz countryside. The UAE Red Crescent distributed 10 tons of relief aid in Shabwa governorate.
UAE Red Crescent launches water project in Taiz countryside
Funded by the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent, which continue for two-month, water-saving project in Taiz province to provide water for the people of Bani Yunis villages, the Directorate of Al-Mawasit, which suffer from water lacks during the harsh winter.
The project aims at isolating the “Dom, Al-Thunib, Sharar, Aqaf and Al-Manakh” which included targeting in the Directorate of Al-Mawasit and serving more than 20,000 people.
Brigadier General Adnan Al-Hammadi, commander of the 35th Brigade, who was honored with the general projects of the UAE Red Crescent, praised the provision of water by moving more than tens of kilometers to these villages for relief despite the roughness of the road.
“We are very happy to meet the needs of people who have suffered from drought in recent months.
The inauguration of the Sokia water project witnessed the attendance of Brigadier General Adnan Al-Hammadi and the leadership of the local council in Al-Mawasat Directorate and Sheikh Amin Hassan, head of the General People’s branch in the Directorate.
UAE offers 10 tons of relief aid in Shabwa
The UAE Red Crescent Society distributed 10 tons of relief aid to a number of families in Shabwa governorate today.
Food aid targeted 627 people in the desert areas near the city of Ataq.
The beneficiary families thanked the UAE and its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent, for their assistance, which contributed to alleviating their suffering.
