Under the auspices and funding of the UAE Red Crescent Society, the secretary of Hadramout province governor, Mohamed Al Amoudi opened the free mobile clinic for early detection for breast cancer, in the commercial center of Mukalla Mall, in conjunction with the month of October of ‘Global Awareness’, which Hadramout Foundation for fighting cancer (Amal) launched it in the logo of ‘pink month’.
According to a statement, it has permeated the effectiveness of a number of chiefs of awareness included corner of breast self-examination education and medical consultations, media awareness and educational lectures corner.
The first activities of the free tent began with words about breast symptoms and methods of discovery and treatment by Dr. Waleed Albataty as well as a realistic experience of a state of recovering from breast cancer presented by Sahala Bawazir explained her long-suffering journey with the disease and how she ,with medical and family efforts, could go beyond her ordeal to the healing from cancer by the help of Allah.
Hadramout Foundation’s efforts has multiplied to encourage the participation of women in the ‘pink month campaign’ ,sponsored by the UAE Red Crescent Society, that has been started this week as a distinct and integrated campaign contributed in supporting of raising awareness about Breast Cancer.
MR. Al Amoudi praised the tireless efforts of the Hadramaut Foundation for Fighting Cancer,’Amal’ in helping patients and developing its institutional performance and renewal in its work and activities as well as charity works that carried out by the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates, which shows a strong commitment to extend a helping hand and prudence in its humanitarian noble mission. He added that ‘The pink month’ campaign is a special identity which sends a strong message of hope and influential as related to health and is a source of inspiration that women need in their daily lives.
Dr. Walid Albataty ,the executive director of the Foundation, explained that the program is a part of the awareness activities for Breast Cancer during ‘pink month’ which marks the month of October each year and aims to increase awareness of the importance of early detection of Breast Cancer in women as well as share information about and provide related detection and inspection services. He stressed that all the activities that have been selected for this campaign bearing entertaining and educational dimensions at the same time. However, it needs more required interaction and participation of the community process. He praised the role of the UAE Red Crescent for their support for activities of the diverse programs.
The Chairman of the UAE Relief Team in Hadramout, Mr. Matar Al-Ketbi, emphasized the keenness of the society to support projects and community initiatives and provide all the support, especially when it comes to such a community goal. He added, ‘pink month’ campaign care comes out of the body message in promoting and giving humanitarian fraternity values and targeting all aspects of life’. ‘It is ranging from development and relief efforts from the values of sympathy and humanitarian compassion to help and rescue those in need of support all humanitarian charitable initiatives’.
The ‘pink month’ campaign of October, features focusing on shifting the theme of Breast Cancer awareness as a matter of women’s purely disease for the attention of the whole family members . In addition the whole society to inspire the entire family in order to make a positive difference in the lives of others through the delivery of a clear message centered on the importance of participation for an early test.
The opening ceremony was attended by Omar Al-hiqi the governor’s advisor of Hadramout directorates, Shawqi Al-Tamimi a representative of the UAE Red Crescent ,Sheikh Obeid Al-Tamimi the chairman of Commercial Kardous Group ,Yamani Al- Tamimi the director of Hyper Supermarket and a number of executive offices managers and directors of institutions and youth associations.
