Successful Operation to Nullify and neutralize 520 kilo grams of mines planted in Mukalla Sea

In the significant operation described as a high quality that was managed on Saturday, October 1st by the Engineering Unit Task Force of the National Programme for Demining led by Brigadier
Abo-Saleh the head of the engineering and mine counter revocation in Hadramout. They revoked more than 520 kilo grams of explosives, mines and combat (TNT and C4) at 8 large cylinders which each one hasimg-20161002-wa0057 65 kg that planted by terrorist elements in the sea just 150 meters from the city of Mukalla.
Brigadier Abo-Saleh said that the Engineering Unit Mine Action Department received reports from some sailors and divers of the sons of Mukalla who informed them of the existence of explosive cylinders interconnected whole electrical system with a wireless device attached to the top of the remains wreck of the ship “Bgaig” sunken off the city of Mukalla for the purpose to to be detonated by remote control.

He added that if it was detonated by the terrorist elements, there would be then comprehensive destruction of homes in Mukalla, there would be serious damage to ships anchored off the port and the fisheries might get inevitably damage.
He stated that they immediately dealt with the considerable notification with high seriousness.
They began working and cutting off to paralyse communication between wireless device and the explosive cylinders which placed in the depth of the sea around (6 meters). They disarmed the lightning strikes on the objects and dismantled each cylinder individually.

Brigadier Abo-Saleh emphasized that the disposal of explosive cylinders operation was successful par excellence when some experts together with professional divers from the engineering unit took part in defusing and revoking explosives and to be transported to far from the city of Mukalla in the depths of the sea and disposed safely away.
Brigadier Abo-Saleh offered his thanks and appreciation to the Arab Alliance Forces led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and a special thanks to the UAE, for their steadfast and tangible effort of demining program in Hadramout.
