UAE Red Crescent unveiled a package of new projects in the Shabwa province which intends to implement over the next few days and vary between health and service infrastructure and material relief, noting at the same time strenuous efforts to work on supporting the intensive shortage of medicines and medical supplies in the governorate.
This came on the sidelines of the agreement signed today by the UAE Red Crescent with Ras Algala’a Contracting Company to finance the implementation of the project maintenance and furnishing of a health center in Bir Ali area, one of Rodoom Directorate in Shabwa province.
Abdullah Almsafri, representative of the UAE Red Crescent in Hadramout, has signed the agreement in the presence of the Society projects administrators in Hadramout and Mohammed Al-Shaklya, the General Director of the Directorate and a number of officials there.
Almsafri explained that the agreement comes within the framework of health projects implemented by the UAE Red Crescent Society in Shabwa province to help the population to pass the crisis they are experiencing due to the war that sparked by the coup. He emphasized the keenness of the Society to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and meet their needs to help them to mitigate and expand the numbers of the beneficiaries of the services that it provides.
He noted that the support provided by the UAE comes within the framework of humanitarian commitment to the Yemeni people, and to meet the humanitarian values and authentic maxims and continuity to its charitable and humanitarian efforts that carried out to help the people to continue their lives and to enhance the security and stability.
He also pointed out that the Society is keen to restore and maintain the health of the building and provide it with interior equipment of waiting seats, beds, medical equipment and other supplies to be ready to receive patients of the population of the Directorate.
Furthermore, he revealed that the next few days will witness the implementation of a package of projects in the province of Shabwa, ranging from health , service and infrastructure, along with continued distribution of relief items provided by the United Arab Emirates as a part of its efforts to support the recovery and rehabilitation of these sectors, particularly in the services and medical affairs through medical supply, rehabilitation and restoration for many of the establishments of health facilities and work to cover the intensive shortage of medicines and medical supplies.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Shaklya, General Director of the Directorate, thanked the UAE Red Crescent Society for the generous support provided. He pointed out that the Yemeni people will never forget the solidarity and support of the United Arab Emirates on their side in this ordeal experienced by the result of the coup militias. He noted to the importance of starting the implementation of the maintenance and restoration of the health center in the Directorate to get people take advantage of its services.
He stressed the crucial importance of the project being to serve the people of the area and the nearby villages after he stumbled its services during the last period because of the circumstances experienced by the province of Shabwa.
For his part, Abdullah Mubarak Afif , Director of Health Office of Rodoom Directorate, has expressed his sincere thanks to the United Arab Emirates government and people for the projects and support of infrastructure, services and relief.
He also pointed to the significant role played by the UAE Red Crescent Society and its continuous support after brought upon themselves the rehabilitation of infrastructure in a number of liberated provinces, in addition to the various projects.
It is noteworthy that the UAE Red Crescent team continues its process to distribute food aid in Rodoom District in Shabwa.
