Last Saturday morning the Elite and Security Forces removed the unlicensed Qat markets in Mukalla city, in collaboration with the Office of Public Works under the supervision of the local authority in the Directorate in coordination with the leadership of the Second Military Region and the Directorate Security.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Abdul Baki Alhuthrey, the General Manager of Mukalla city, had announced for the start of this campaign last Thursday. He singled out a statement to the site and the newspaper of ‘Alwaqa Aljadeed’.
We are informed from Dr. Alhuthrey that the campaign comes as part of the local authority’s efforts in Mukalla with the guidance of the Province Governor to maintain the general cultural panorama, to reduce congestion on city streets and in response to calls by citizens to what these markets caused of nuisance and spreading of certain moral phenomena.
He added: “We thank the elite and security forces and those unknown soldiers for bearing the effort and implementing political and security leadership directives in regard to the public interest and the restoration of public security and tranquility.
Furthermore, he pointed out “on all citizens to contribute and cooperate hand in hand with the local authority for the success of such campaigns as they have a positive impact on all levels”.
