The governor of Hadramout province, Major General, Ahmed Saeed Bin-Break opened together with the representative of the UAE Red Crescent Mr. Khalifa Al Neyadi, the project of the breakwater in Asseteen Street shore in Mukalla, that funded by the UAE Red Crescent Authority at a cost of 123 million Yemeni riyals.
During the opening ceremony, Governor Bin-Break heard from the implementing supervisors for the project, Balbhait and Bin Al-Sheikh Abu-Baker Costruction Company, to explain about the work that has been done within the first phase of this project included the establishment of a breakwater along the 420 meters of large stones in accordance with the technical specifications and precise subscriptions engineering. Noting that the opening of the rehabilitation project and the construction of the breakwater Asseteen Street is an important project because of its great importance as a prime street connects the city of Mukalla with the west areas of it. It is an important strategic Street serves the citizens in the movement after its collapse due to natural disasters that have occurred since 2008, through 2010 and to the end of Shabala Hurricane as well as the annual monsoon. Adding to the completion of the project in these standard length with additional business represented in the work of embankments and clean up remnants of shoulder asphalt and create a filter cloth insulator prevents the sand from coming up with the water as well as pave and scrape a layer before the asphalt. It is opened to vehicular traffic routinely so that it contributes to the reduction of traffic congestion and ensure safety for the road-users.
The governor also briefed on the work contained in the second phase of the rehabilitation of the Asseeen Street in Mukalla, such as the expansion works and asphalt and constructing a sidewalk for pedestrians and discharge flood water project.
He expressed that he was delighted to inaugurate this project, adding that the project will contribute to ending the suffering of the people of Mukalla congestion and traffic congestion and facilitate their vehicles traffic in this vital street. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE Red Crescent Authority on the good efforts and outstanding contributions in Hadramout in various aspects, especially the rebuilding of infrastructure projects in the province.
For his part, Mr. Khalifa Al Neyadi representative of the UAE Red Crescent Hadramout said that the commission continues to support important projects in Hadramout, and this constructive rehabilitation of the breakwater of Asseteen Street project is one of the vital projects that touch the lives of citizens directly, as it represents the way of crucial linked the interests of the citizens and their movements to and from Mukalla.
Mr. Neyadi confirmed that the UAE’s Red Crescent has carried out a variety of projects involving infrastructure and the development of education and humanitarian relief .There are other projects that will be supported and implemented for the benefit of the entire people of the province.
Colonel Sheikh Mustafa Al-Hamed, deputy general director of the security police of the coastal region of Hadramout, attended the opening ceremony with the supervisors of UAE Red Crescent projects in Hadramout, Shawki al-Tamimi , Khalil Al-Tamimi and the Chairman of Balbhait and Bin Al-Sheikh Abu-Baker Contraction Company, Mohamed Ali Balbhait.
